This is a great system/app, regardless of a few pitfalls. Yes, the old menu was better, and the new android update seems to have cut the lower portion of the screen off..it's just black now, but full functionality still exists. Ecobee's tech support is really top notch, so any problems can usually be straightened out with a phone call. A rare occurrence these days. This is one of my few home apps that never loses connectivity, unlike my actual "Home" app.

The app will not change the temperature of the thermostat. I have to physically use the thermostat to make a change. UPDATE to original review. I downloaded the latest version of app; to correct the previous issue. This version is worse. Now the app opens in browser mode and forces me to sign in. When I sign in I get a black screen that has "Not Found" in the upper left corner. Tech support has been very nice; but unable to resolve the issue. App is now unusable; have to use web portal.

App randomly can't connect to one or both of the two thermostats in my home and then will on their own connect later. Happens back and forth, so I never know if I'll be able to control my thermostat on my phone at any particular time. After reading online, it's a common problem that has been going on for years, no clue why they can't figure out. My WiFi never goes out, never have any issues with anything else other than ecobee app connectivity
